With a weight of only 0.86 kilograms and a thickness of 7.62 millimeters, it is clear that this is a highly portable 12-inch device that fits into the 2-in-1 category with its design, similar to Microsoft’s Surface. The keyboard easily connects to the main tablet, and the stand built into the back allows for easy use in computer mode, as does the optional dock that enables the device to wirelessly connect to separate monitors and other peripheral devices.
The base model comes with 4 GB of RAM, a 128 GB SSD for data storage, and an Intel Core M3 processor, while a stronger version is available with 8 GB of RAM, a 512 GB SSD, and a Core M7 processor. The stronger version also comes with a Wacom pen and a slightly higher quality travel version of the keyboard. Overall, this model appears to be a business version of the previously introduced HP Spectre x2. HP emphasizes that they have paid great attention to security, which makes this device even more applicable in corporate environments. The starting price is $899, and sales begin next month.
