Konzum klik – new concept of online shopping

Konzum klik, new concept of online shopping, marks the beginning of a new era in retail in Croatia. The project, which is operational from today, includes an investment of 30 million kuna in the construction and equipping of a new logistics center that spans over 5,000 square meters on Zagrebačka Avenue in Vrbanima, on the site of the former Getro.

However, the most equipped center in this part of Europe cannot function without a completely redesigned web interface that makes online shopping easier and more accessible.

– We believe in the future of online shopping, even though we are the first and only retailer developing this segment, and we expect online sales to grow by up to three times – said Darko Knez, CEO of Konzum.

Until now, all online orders were commissioned in Superkonzums, leading to errors, poor sorting of goods, and questions about quality. These problems will no longer exist in the technologically advanced center in Vrbanima. All employees have undergone special training in order sorting, so nothing is left to chance. Modern scanning technology allows for accurate commissioning of up to 12 different orders simultaneously, and the system’s advancement is best illustrated by the fact that it alerts on the expiration of a specific product, explained Knez. The center itself offers as many as 8,000 items, and the assortment will expand according to customer wishes.

– For now, we are sending orders only to Zagreb and the surrounding area, with plans to expand to Rijeka, Osijek, and Split, and eventually to the region through Mercator centers and Ideja – announced Knez, emphasizing that the biggest novelty is that from the transaction of the order to delivery at the Drive-in in Vrbanima, which will be operational in January, will take exactly two hours. The minimum order is 200 kuna, and delivery is free for purchases over 500 kuna.

The new Konzum klik website is much simpler to use, with a sales concept focused on the speed of purchase, security, and quality of delivered products. The search engine allows simultaneous searching of multiple different items and recognizes various local dialects. All items have high-quality photos, detailed descriptions, and some even video materials. Payment can be made by card or cash upon delivery. Customers can also see who will deliver their order and rate the delivery person.

The new logistics-distribution center is also distinguished by a mural by academic painter Stipan Tadić, who painted the entire facade. If necessary, the plan is to semi-automate the existing center, and in the future, likely fully automate it.

The general growth of online retail in Croatia is 24 percent, while online share in total retail in Croatia is only four percent, which will surely change with the new Konzum klik platform, they believe in Agrokor.
