What has been unofficially discussed all along has been confirmed today – representatives of national minorities in the Croatian Parliament will support Zoran Milanović in his attempt to form a government.
Specifically, seven out of a total of eight representatives of national minorities on Wednesday signed a statement of support for Zoran Milanović to attempt to form a government. The only one who did not sign such a statement, media reports, is the representative of the Albanian national minority, Ermina Lekaj Prljaskaj.
After the meeting of the Club of National Minorities in the Parliament, the representative of the Roma minority, Veljko Kajtazi, confirmed that the minorities will stand with the coalition Croatia.
– We have agreed to support the coalition Croatia is Growing, that is, the mandate holder Zoran Milanović.
He confirmed that the representative of the Albanian national minority was invited, but did not respond. The fact that she did not confirm that she would act together with the other minority representatives in the Club of National Minorities is interpreted as confirmation that she does not wish to be a member of the Club.
Unofficially, the SDP coalition can currently count on the support of 67 representatives – 56 of its own representatives, three from IDS, one reformist, and seven minorities. To obtain a mandate, the support of 76 representatives is needed.
