The leader of Most, Božo Petrov, stated on Sunday that he still believes a joint reform government of the SDP, HDZ, and Most is possible and emphasized that “Croats must not be hostages to anyone’s positions.”
– If we all agree on what needs to be done, then I do not see what the problem is in jointly forming a reform government, even if it has a duration of two years, Petrov told reporters after a meeting of the National Council and parliamentary representatives of Most at the Antunović hotel.
– I hope that if in the end HDZ and SDP show that they care about reform, they will accept the idea we have offered them, which is to form a joint government and finally implement real reforms, because for those real and deep reforms a two-thirds majority is needed since the Constitution must be changed, Petrov emphasized.
When asked who would be the prime minister in that government, Petrov replied that he would like all three parties to agree on that and that experts lead the departments. He also added that they have not yet received any correspondence from HDZ and SDP regarding that proposal and expressed hope that “it is still relevant.”
