Facebook owner and founder Mark Zuckerberg announced on Friday his intention to take two months of paternity leave following the recent birth of his first child.
– This is a very personal decision, I decided to take two months of paternity leave when our daughter is born, he wrote in a message posted on his personal page on the social network.
– Research shows that when working parents take time to be with their newborns, the outcomes are better for both children and families, emphasizes Mark Zuckerberg.
According to media reports, Facebook allows its employees in the U.S. to take up to four months of paid paternity leave, which they can schedule as they wish in the year following the birth.
Mark Zuckerberg announced at the end of July that he and his wife Priscilla are expecting a girl after years of trying to conceive a child.
