Terme Tuhelj Opens the Doors to Hostel Vila and Reinstates the Mural by Eda Murtić

At Terme Tuhelj in Croatian Zagorje, the Hostel Vila (and of the elves) was opened on Tuesday, with an investment of 50,000 euros, and the restored enamel mural by Eda Murtić, measuring 42 meters in length, was presented.

As part of today’s ART&SPA conference at Terme Tuhelj, a new accommodation capacity aimed at the younger population, specifically guests who are traveling, was opened. This is Hostel Vila, with a total value of 50,000 euros, which offers comfort in four rooms for two people, and two dormitories for six people each. The hostel also includes a living room with a dining area and a large terrace for social gatherings, and is equipped with modern sanitary facilities.

The opening of the hostel was preceded by an annual conference for domestic and Slovenian journalists, attended by representatives of the parent company, Slovenian Terme Olimia, led by director Florjan Vasle. New investments have been announced for both Terme for the next year, with 150,000 euros for the renovation of the pool with new attractions in Tuhelj, and one million euros for the renovation of the Sotelia hotel in Olimia. 

– We are pleased that in the year we celebrate 50 years of thermal tourism in Olimia, both we and Tuhelj are recording good business results with increases in overnight stays and bathers. We believe that the synergy of our two products will bring increases in the coming years, said Vasle.

The director of Terme Tuhelj, Ivana Kolar, emphasized that this year, in ten months, Terme Tuhelj achieved nearly 5 million euros in revenue, which is 7.5 percent more than last year.

– We believe that we will maintain such a revenue trend until the end of this year and into the next year, as the forecasts are excellent, and this year’s results were also boosted by a 7.3 percent increase in overnight stays, reaching 73 thousand, and a 13 percent increase in bathers, totaling 136 thousand.

She added that they have the largest share of total overnight stays in the county, at 40 percent.

The restored mural by Eda Murtić was premiered – the largest enamel painting in Croatia, which has been returned to its original location in the closed pool complex, where it represents a unique artistic attraction. The wall painting, measuring as much as 42 meters in length, is one of Murtić’s capital works and will finally be enjoyed by all visitors to the Water Planet.
