Croatia has one of the largest European producers. However, it is about sports, if we are to believe the results of the research conducted by the Centre for Sports Studies (CIES) from Neuchâtel, Switzerland.
Croatian football champion Dinamo is among the five European clubs that have the most players who originated from their ranks across Europe, according to the research results conducted by the Centre for Sports Studies (CIES) from Neuchâtel, Switzerland.
As reported by the media, the research was conducted among 460 clubs from 31 European countries, and according to CIES data, the ‘blues’ are in fourth place among the largest ‘European producers’. At this moment, as many as 53 players who play in Croatia or another European league originated from Dinamo. Of these, five are in the first team of the ‘blues’, while as many as 48 are in other clubs.
At the top of the list is Belgrade’s Partizan with 78 players. Currently, there are 13 in the first team squad, and 65 have continued their careers in other clubs. Second is Ajax with 75 players (11 in the first team, 64 in other clubs), and third is Barcelona with 62 players (10 in the first team, 52 in other clubs). Also, in a high seventh place is Split’s Hajduk with 49 players. There are 11 in the first team squad and 38 in other clubs.
Belarusian Gomel is the club with the most players from its own ranks. This season, 92 percent of the team consists of ‘home boys’. Belarusian Neman Grodno is second (70%), third is Czech Sigma Olomouc (65), and in the TOP are also Spanish Athletic Bilbao (63) and Ukrainian Metalurg from Zaporizhzhia (63%).
