Weber Escal will deliver over 17 million postal shipments this year

Weber Escal d.o.o., part of the Austrian Post group, is a leading alternative postal operator and market leader in the distribution of unaddressed promotional materials – leaflets with over 70% market share in Croatia.

At a gathering held yesterday with business partners and media at the Mimara Museum in Zagreb, the General Director of Weber Escal d.o.o., Igor Velimirović, emphasized that this year Weber Escal has maintained its long-standing position as the market leader in leaflet distribution. He also stated that by the end of this year, Weber Escal will deliver over 17 million postal shipments and achieve a volume growth of over 70% compared to the previous year, which is certainly a result of the restructuring in the postal market in Croatia. He stressed that the focus remains on service quality and announced further investments in increasing the number of employees, modernizing equipment, and the vehicle fleet.

Alongside Igor Velimirović, Wolfgang Einer, Senior Vice President for CEE Mail of Austrian Post, Boris Brković, General Director of Overseas Express – the sister company of Weber Escal which is the market leader in parcel distribution, and Tanja Plankl on behalf of the Austrian company Feibra, which is also part of Austrian Post, addressed the attendees.

The company Weber Escal was founded in 1994 and initially provided only unaddressed distribution services (leaflets, brochures, catalogs). After being acquired by Austrian Post in 2007, Weber Escal significantly expanded its operations, leading to a sharp increase in volume and revenue. In 2008, Austrian Post began constructing a large logistics center (5,500 m2) in Hrvatski Leskovac, where, upon completion of the works in 2009, Weber Escal and its sister company Overseas Express were located. Today, Weber Escal is the market leader in Croatia in leaflet distribution with over 70% market share.

Thanks to the liberalization of the postal market in 2013, Weber Escal began distributing addressed postal shipments and this year has taken the position of the first alternative postal operator.

Such results are the consequence of significant investments in business improvement. In the last three years, 640,000 EUR has been invested in business development. Weber Escal has a total of 58 distribution centers in all major cities in Croatia, and in the last three years, 170 new employees have been hired.
