In Croatia, a total of 6,013 simple trading companies (j.d.o.o.) were established in the first ten months of this year, which means that this year, on a monthly basis, 501 simple companies were founded, or 19 per day, according to an analysis published on Monday by the company Bisnode.
Last year, in the first ten months, 6,468 “companies for 10 kuna” were established, or 21 per day, and in the ten months of 2013, 7,346 or 24 per day. Data on newly established limited liability companies (d.o.o.) show that in the first 10 months of this year, 4,493 were established, or 14 per day. This is slightly more compared to the same period last year when about three hundred d.o.o. were established less, or 13 per day. In the ten months of 2013, 4,924 d.o.o. were established or 16 per day.
As much as 30 percent of simple companies in the ten months of this year were opened in the area of the City of Zagreb, totaling 1,825, or 6 per day, while the least, 51, were established in the Požega-Slavonia County. A similar trend is observed with d.o.o. – alongside the dominance of the City of Zagreb and 5 open joint-stock companies per day, the least d.o.o. are opened in the Lika-Senj County, where only 25 have been registered so far.
Observing the number of opened simple companies by month, it seems that the most attractive period for starting entrepreneurial activity is the beginning of spring, according to Bisnode. During this period, both this year and in previous years, nearly 40 percent of the total number of simple trading companies registered in the first 10 months were established. The most dynamic month is March, in which this year 35.6 percent more were established than the average of the first 10 months, or 806 simple companies. April follows with 764, and February with about a hundred j.d.o.o. less. On the other hand, August this year records the lowest number of newly established companies, and this year’s January and last September stand out when the number of simple companies was below the average for the first 10 months. Limited liability companies (d.o.o.) are also most frequently established in March, while August is the month with the least activity. The number of established d.o.o. in March is 35.56 percent higher than the average number established in the first 10 months of this year.
