According to the valid Regulation on Waste Textile and Footwear, every textile or footwear store larger than 400 square meters will have to provide a special container for textile waste.
Citizens will no longer have to take textile waste, clothing, carpets, and similar items to recycling yards, and companies engaged in textile processing will no longer depend so much on the import of this valuable raw material.
The biggest beneficiary will be Regeneracija from Zabok, whose director Anđelko Švaljek states that the company is ready to take over all collected waste under certain conditions.
– We hope to exceed 3,500 tons of collected waste this year, and the plan is to collect at least 85 percent of that amount in the domestic market. Our capacity is 8,000 tons, and in three years, when we complete the investment cycle worth 10 million kuna, we will be able to process even 10,000 tons – concluded Švaljek.
