HTZ’s #SuperBowlCroatia Campaign Nominated for the City Nation Place Global Award

The campaign of the Croatian National Tourist Board #SuperBowlCroatia, conducted on the social network Twitter in connection with this year’s NFL Super Bowl final, has been nominated for the City Nation Place global award, which will be presented next week.

HTZ reported today, adding that the Croatian campaign is competing in the ‘Best use of social media’ category against the Austrian National Tourist Office, ConnectIreland.com, Travel Manitoba, and Onlynalon.

We remind you that Lider wrote about the opportunity for promoting Croatian tourism that arose through the Super Bowl final, and it seems that HTZ reacted in time.

The awards will be presented at the first City Nation Place conference on November 5 of this year in London, which will gather more than 150 representatives of government officials, investors, tourism professionals, and destination marketing experts.

The other three categories in which City Nation Place awards will be given are Best Citizen Engagement, Best Communication Strategy, and Place Brand of the Year.

The Director of the HTZ Main Office, Ratomir Ivičić, stated regarding the nomination that “the team promptly and excellently utilized the fact of the Croatian origin of both coaches in the final of the most-watched sporting spectacle in the USA, and that this mini-campaign had excellent effects, as evidenced by this nomination.”

He also believes that this is a prime example of how a quality real-time campaign can be very successful.

From the HTZ Main Office, they remind that in this year’s Super Bowl, the teams competing for the trophy were the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks, whose coaches both have Croatian roots.
