Mario Sever: We have never and will never produce or sell products that are not ecological

– We have waited too long to address the public, hoping that the results of the testing commissioned by the Ministry of Agriculture would be completed earlier and that this case would be resolved. We have never and will never produce or sell products that are not ecological – stated Mario Sever, the head of the family agricultural farm Eko Sever, at a press conference.

This extraordinary public address was held in response to a special report by Telegram, where the investigative team of that weekly accused Eko Sever of secretly purchasing goods from a wholesale market where ecological products are not sold and transferring them to their warehouses. What caused considerable confusion among those present was that the directors of Bioinspekta, Berislav Vrkljan and Dubravko Kupčinovac, who are responsible for quality control of goods, also participated in the same conference. They said they have no experience with the media and appearing together with Eko Sever seemed like a logical move. – All producers in Croatia have passed our controls, including Eko Sever. We conduct them at least once a year, and we have been at Eko Sever twice in the past year. Everything was in perfect order. We would never allow goods that are not what they are sold as or that contain prohibited pesticides to reach the market – stated Vrkljan.

Those who stirred up the whole story, the journalists of Telegram, remain convinced that Sever is hiding something, while he himself claims that this is just one in a series of attacks on their farm and family, and that although they are used to it, this attack was nonetheless too strong. As a result, they have recorded a 60 percent drop in revenue over the past month and are faced with the possibility of terminating employment contracts with their employees, Sever adds.

Perhaps much will be clearer once the results of the Ministry of Agriculture are made public, whose employees came unannounced to the Sever estate and took samples. The results are expected to be announced to the public within 30 days.
