At the initiative of CEPOR (Center for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises and Entrepreneurship), a Family Business Forum was held today in Zagreb on the topic ‘Legal and Economic Aspects of Business Transfer’, featuring guest speaker Jean-Luc Wuidard, a Belgian lawyer specializing in tax law and an expert on legal issues related to the transfer of family businesses.
Before Wuidard delivered an extensive presentation, which covered key topics such as ‘How to Ensure Income in Retirement After Withdrawing from Managing a Family Business’, ‘Formation of a Family Council’, and ‘Selling and Buying a Business – How to Protect Yourself from Unforeseen Circumstances’, CEPOR Director Mirela Alpeza gave a lecture on business transfer in Croatia. According to her, the complexity of this issue is greatly underestimated in Croatia, especially since a significant number of entrepreneurs over the age of 55 will soon face the issue of business transfer.
