In Croatia, 9,526 companies were established in the first 9 months of this year, while 4,537 were closed, according to an analysis by the business information company Bisnode.
Given that last year in the first three quarters, one new company was established for every closed company, while in the same period of 2015, an average of two new companies were established for each closed company, it raises the assumption that now is indeed the right time to start a business. But is that really the case?
In this week’s Fight Club, we ask you how you assess the current entrepreneurial climate, and whether you believe this pre-election period is suitable for opening a company.
Professor at the Faculty of Economics Ivan Lovrinović believes, regardless of Bisnode’s analysis, that now is definitely not the right moment. – Young people are afraid to start new ventures. Even those who have an idea. I take my hat off to anyone who is ready to take that risk now, claims Lovrinović.
The marketing director of Bisnode, Višeslav Majić, although cautious, believes that it is always the right time to start a business, and the results of the current research support this.
Do you agree with Lovrinović or are you optimistic like Majetić? We expect your votes and comments in the Fight Club, and you can cast your vote HERE.
