It’s Time for Investments in Croatia

It’s Time for Investments in Croatia!, is the message of the business conference titled MEETING G2.1 (meeting second generation) which will be held at the FORUM Zagreb congress center from October 26 to 30 this year.

„The idea for the conference was born last year around this time“, said the project director, Mr. Josip Hrgetić: „We are looking for ways to show Croatians who, like us, were born abroad, how to recognize investment opportunities in Croatia. Namely, Croatia is perfect in terms of infrastructure, although there are problems in bureaucracy that can be resolved. Croatians are honest, hardworking, and diligent people, proud of their nationality. Therefore, we concluded that it would be interesting for both Croatia and our families living abroad to connect professionally.“ The goal of the conference is to network participants, present new projects to potential investors in the diaspora, regain their trust, and thus retain young people in Croatia. Croatia does not lack good ideas – only funds.

The conference will explore opportunities in new markets and provide information on utilizing the opportunities offered by Croatian and European Union institutions for investments in Croatia. This is, in fact, a conference organized by returnees for returnees under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Croatia, Kolinda Grabar Kitarović, and with the support of domestic companies, agencies, and institutions.

So far, more than 50 participants from Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Chile, Ecuador, Finland, France, Canada, Hungary, Macedonia, Germany, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, the USA, Switzerland, and Venezuela have confirmed their attendance.

The participants of this conference are recognized individuals in their communities – the goal is for them to return to their country and tell this story – to spread the word in that country among emigrants and potential investors.

In addition to Joško Klisović, Deputy Minister for Foreign and European Affairs, and Damir Novinić, President of the Agency for Investments and Competitiveness, the President of the Republic of Croatia, Kolinda Grabar Kitarović, will also be present at the conference and will open it.

As part of a rich five-day program, 7 panel discussions have been organized, among others, participants include successful Croatians in the world and in the country: Tomislav Kuljiš from Bolivia, Darrell Šarić from Canada, Denis Rubić from Germany; David Tudorović from Australia (tbc) and Antonio Šeparović from the Republic of South Africa.
