According to the business report for the first nine months of 2015, Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT) achieved a net operating profit of 143.1 million kuna, which is an increase of 22% or 25.8 million kuna compared to the same period last year. Total revenue amounts to 1.055 billion kuna, which is 3.4 million kuna more than in the same period last year. Total expenses simultaneously amount to 911.7 million kuna, which is a decrease of 2.4% or 22.4 million kuna compared to the same period last year.
„This result was achieved by increasing management efficiency and reducing overall operating costs during the implementation of the restructuring program and the introduction of a new unified functional multimedia organization. With the continued modernization of technology and investments, these results will contribute to creating a foundation for long-term stability and sustainability of operations and the sustainable development of HRT“, stated HRT’s Business Director Boris Sruk.
He emphasized that the number of employees has been reduced from 3,360 to 2,926 since the beginning of the restructuring program, a decrease of 434 employees or 12.9%, while the total wage mass is 8.9% lower compared to the same period last year.
Thanks to the achieved business results, investments continue in new technological and production infrastructure and improving working conditions and technological foundations to increase efficiency and productive connectivity of programming units. Digital television production technologies have been fully implemented in HRT’s Rijeka center, HRT’s Split center, and HRT’s Osijek center, while HRT’s Dubrovnik center, HRT’s Zadar center, and HRT’s Čakovec and Varaždin centers have moved into newly modernized spaces, and HRT’s Pula center and HRT’s Knin center have been consolidated and modernized. Technological modernization continued in the third quarter of 2015, for which 128.7 million kuna in investments was initiated by the end of the mentioned period.
