Milošević: We will cut parafiscal levies with a chainsaw

The HDZ economic program will serve to protect and relieve entrepreneurs, which specifically means that all parafiscal levies and all bureaucratic entanglements will be cut with a chainsaw, metaphorically explained Domagoj Ivan Milošević, coordinator of the economic Committees of HDZ at the gathering of the Community of Entrepreneurs and Craftsmen of HDZ held tonight in Sveti Martin na Muri.

Before the gathered entrepreneurs and craftsmen from the Međimurje region, mostly HDZ members, but also those who are not party-affiliated, Tomislav Ćorić, president of the HDZ Finance Committee, reiterated the promise of the strongest opposition party to reduce VAT by 2019.

– This will not happen overnight; it must be the result of a whole series of measures that we will implement with your help. This means that we will no longer tolerate 90 to 100 million kuna of informal economy annually. Unreported and untaxed work must be stopped – Ćorić emphasized.

Ivana Maletić, a Member of the European Parliament, pointed out unresolved property-legal relations as a special problem in the development of Croatia and the implementation of larger investment projects. The entire country cannot, she assessed, be a hostage and stagnate in development due to unresolved property-legal relations.

– It is not normal that this is normal. This is not how a well-organized state is run – said Maletić, adding that no government has yet tackled this issue.

Marko Kolaković, president of the HDZ Economic Committee, reiterated that HDZ will adhere to 50 strategic projects ready for implementation, including the Pelješac Bridge and the Sava-Danube Canal, and mentioned one of special significance for northern Croatia.

– A chain of purchasing stations for agricultural products throughout Croatia, from Varaždin to Ilok, everything produced in Croatia will be marketed, if not in Croatia, then in some smaller town in Germany – Kolaković stated.

Our economic program, Ćorić emphasized, is not a program for sharing chairs, but for a better tomorrow. As Maletić pointed out, ministerial positions have not yet been distributed in HDZ, but there is an idea to reduce the number of ministries where entrepreneurs and citizens get lost and where overlaps in responsibilities and tasks occur.
