Franak Association Left Without Leadership

The leading figures of the Franak Association announced in a notice sent to all members of the association that they are resigning due to ‘damaged human relations’.

The notice sent to the members of the association is as follows:

‘Dear members,

last Saturday, October 17, 2015, an extraordinary Assembly of the Franak Association was scheduled, which was closed to the public. Due to a certain number of members who came to attend the Assembly but did not receive an invitation to participate, the Assembly was not held as it would have been contrary to statutory provisions.

For some time now, part of the regular membership (Supervisory Board, coordinators, and volunteers) and employees of the Franak Association have been unable to carry out the planned activities of the Association and act with the aim of resolving the issues related to loans in Swiss francs due to damaged interpersonal relations with that specific number of members. Despite our best efforts to ignore and/or resolve the mentioned problem, part of the regular membership and employees of the Franak Association assess this working environment as demotivating, harmful, and unhealthy, and due to the actions of a certain number of members, they have decided to withdraw from their positions in the Association. The following individuals have resigned:

– Association leader and office manager Katarina Lucić,

– Public relations manager Ivana Bjelica,

– Authorized representative and coordinator for Eastern Croatia Krešimir Bajamić,

– Coordinator of the Economic-Legal Team Jurica Dobrinić,

– All three members of the Supervisory Board,

– Authorized person for maintaining the register Marko Sinković,

– Liquidator and founder of the Association Božo Ivošević,

– Commissioner for Southern Croatia Rozita Jeličić,

– Commissioner for several counties in Central Croatia Marijan Petruša,

– Activist responsible for Bjelovar-Bilogora County,

– Commissioner for Istria County Gordana Šušljik,

– Commissioner for Primorje-Gorski Kotar County Zdenko Sobol,

– Commissioner for Međimurje County Darinka Bistrović,

– Member of the Public Relations Team Ivan Kontrec,

– Members of the Regional Team Eastern Croatia – Darija Švob, Igor Vučak, and Ivan Sabo,

– Members of the Regional Team Southern Croatia – Irena Puljiz Toth, Zvonimir Šunjić, Ljubica Kežić, and Kata Kukurić,

– and three volunteers regular members of the Assembly.

We are deeply saddened by the fact that we were unable to find common ground in order to resolve the issues and that personal disputes, interests, and motives of individuals have prevailed over numerous human destinies. For this reason, the mentioned individuals from the regular membership and employees of the Association have decided to resign and continue to implement their planned projects together, but outside the Franak Association. We thank all members who supported our work and efforts and contributed in any way to the years-long struggle. The remaining regular members of the Association will continue to inform the membership and will elect new bodies of the association. We ask all our members for understanding and patience, and due to the aforementioned reasons, consultations across Croatia will not be held during October. We wish the future leadership of the Association much success in continuing this struggle!’
