Readers of Lider do not believe that HDZ can fulfill its pre-election promises, and thus they have aligned with the opinion of Damir Novotny, who views all pre-election promises of the two largest Croatian parties with great skepticism.
As many as 80 percent of voters in Lider’s Fight Club, 448 of them, agreed with economic analyst Novotny, who believes that ’the whole story around HDZ’s campaign is primarily in the function of political marketing’, adding that it is easy to promise everything before elections, but it is unlikely that anything will be implemented. His defeated opponent Ivan Domagoj Milošević, a member of HDZ and former Deputy Prime Minister for Investments, is confident that HDZ can fulfill its promises and knows how to do it.
– HDZ can and will improve the situation in the country, and it will do so by genuinely supporting the private sector, Croatian entrepreneurs, craftsmen, and farmers by abolishing parafiscal levies and bureaucratic entanglements and helping them access foreign markets. The biggest task will be to restore Croatia’s credit rating from junk to investment grade. The entire public sector will be reformed, which includes reorganization, digitalization, and efficiency at all levels of administration – said Milošević.
However, only twenty percent of Lider’s readers supported him in his confrontation with Novotny.
