The Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Crafts held the first informational workshop on Monday for a new call from EU funds aimed at investing in ICT, worth 22.8 million kuna.
The goal is to assist in addressing identified weaknesses related to the insufficient application of information and communication technology (ICT) solutions in business processes in small and medium-sized enterprises, particularly in mountainous and island areas.
Grants will be awarded through a temporary call for project proposals, open until January 15, 2016.
The Minister of Entrepreneurship and Crafts, Gordan Maras, emphasizes that the aim is to help companies in less developed areas to become more productive and increase their competitiveness.
It is important for companies to develop evenly across Croatia, which this call will contribute to, he said.
“The amount of 22.8 million kuna will be beneficial for companies to enhance their competitiveness and be more successful,” said Maras, adding that the amount of individual grants ranges from 100 thousand kuna to 1.5 million kuna.
Maras expects that 40 to 50 projects will qualify for grants under this call.
He also reminded that a similar call was opened six months ago, which supported around 70 companies.
The Minister of Entrepreneurship emphasized that small and medium-sized enterprises have been a harbinger of economic recovery in Croatia, and there will be more calls by the Ministry to further encourage them by the end of the year.
Thus, for Wednesday, as part of Tourism Day, he announced the presentation of a call aimed at companies in the tourism sector, worth 300 million kuna.
