New Issue of Lider: 10 Years with You!

Lider has turned ten years old! In this celebratory issue, we posed two questions to the largest Croatian entrepreneurs regarding the past decade of the ‘Lider era’ and another decade looking into the company’s future.

Most of them have survived thanks to exports, and conquering new markets remains a mantra for further development. Together with the desire for Croatia to become a business-friendly country – so that entrepreneurs do not have to relocate their company headquarters abroad.

We also write about Lider’s peers. In 2005, besides Lider, another 28,954 companies were established in Croatia across absolutely all sectors, from the food industry, trade, tourism, energy, pharmaceuticals to telecommunications, manufacturing, and so on. We highlighted those that had more than 20 million kuna in revenue last year, and there are 128 of them that are also celebrating their 10th birthday this year.

In the new issue, you can also find an article about the secret life of Lider employees. Because when the editorial lights go out, the people who write for Lider every week, proofread it, design it graphically, photograph it, offer advertising space, run the company, and occasionally organize a conference – in their own world, they showcase completely different talents. And as has often been written in recent web headlines, what this is all about could very well surprise you…

Of course, we did not only focus on Lider, but in the new issue, you can also read about a range of other current topics. Vanja Figenwald writes about the economic programs of the two strongest parties and claims. He asserts that once the SDP presents its program, it will be possible to compare what the two strongest Croatian parties offer. As it stands, one can only dismiss what the HDZ has presented as a thoroughly absorbed story packaged with well-known desires, while the SDP can be expected to offer more or less the same.

Tin Bašić analyzes PR in politics where the SDP is attempting to nullify the HDZ’s advantage in organization through a media offensive. There is no doubt about one thing – there will be a lot of negative campaigning.

We also bring a detailed report from Lider’s conference, Day of Great Plans. At the conference on business conditions for the next year, no one opposed the growth indicators. However, three cold showers followed: Croatia lags behind the region in GDP growth, even more so in export growth, and the third key problem is the lack of adequate workforce.

In the world block, you can read about the elections in Portugal and their lesson for domestic elections, as well as how Business Insider has become the new digital gem of Germany’s Axel Springer.

The new issue of Lider will be on sale this week from Wednesday, October 7, due to the holiday.
