Stefan Vanoverbeke is the new director of IKEA Croatia and regional director of IKEA South East Europe (SEE), the company announced today. Dragan Skalušević, who has been at the helm of IKEA Croatia and IKEA SEE since the company’s entry into the SEE region in 2007 and during whose tenure administrative obstacles for the construction and opening of the IKEA Zagreb store were successfully overcome, will take on new international challenges within the IKEA Group.
Stefan Vanoverbeke comes to the head of the SEE region from the position of CEO of IKEA France, having started his career in 1994 at IKEA Belgium as an intern in the textile department. He became the store manager in Antwerp in 1998, and in 2001 took over the management of the store in Bologna. He remained in Italy until 2005 when he took leadership at IKEA Poland. After managing the Polish and then the French branch of the company, which he has led since 2010, Stefan Vanoverbeke joins the IKEA SEE team. He graduated in communication sciences from the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium.
Dragan Skalušević has been at the helm of IKEA SEE since 2007 and was responsible for its establishment, leading and supporting the implementation of projects in Zagreb, Ljubljana, and Belgrade, as well as during the integration of IKEA Romania, which operated as a franchise until 2010, into the IKEA SEE organization. After the expiration of his term in the current position, Dragan Skalušević will continue to develop his career within the IKEA Group.
