Five Tips for a Perfect Resume Even If You Are Not Qualified Enough

You found your dream job in an advertisement, but you believe you are not qualified enough to get the desired employment? Here are some tips that should help you build your CV and ‘sell’ it to your employer.

1. Focus on the skills you have acquired rather than talking about the jobs you have held.

This way, you will appear much more flexible to the employer, and they will not think so much about your lack of experience in the sector where you want a job.

2. Engage in volunteering.

And engage in volunteering that is closely related to the profession you want to pursue. A large number of companies will offer you the opportunity to volunteer with them, even if you have no prior experience in that field. You will gain extremely valuable experience that will likely be appreciated when searching for a ‘real’ job.

3. Put your greatest achievements at the top of your resume.

If you believe that your previous work experiences will impress your boss more than your academic achievements, then let them be on the first page of your resume. Or if the opposite is true, then list your degrees at the beginning. There are no rules about what must go at the top, and often employers are most focused on what is written first.

4. Be open to all jobs in your desired sector.

If you want to work in a specific sector, be prepared to accept a job that you did not necessarily want. What is important is that you are close to the center of events, meet people, and create contacts.

5. Make the best use of your time, and then weave a story from it.

This means that in your current employment, try to learn as much as possible, whether it is about business skills or relationships with colleagues. Then shape those experiences into a story about your resume. If you believe that none of this will help you, use the time to enroll in a course or a sports activity and create a narrative for your employer from that.
