These are the cities that lazy people should avoid at all costs

If you enjoy looking for shortcuts in your workweek and prefer to do as little as possible, avoid moving to Hong Kong, as the average workweek there exceeds 50 hours, the highest in the world.

Don’t like to work? Don’t worry, you’re not alone, as many dream of living in prosperity without lifting a finger. However, there are places where work is valued, and the workweek lasts much longer than 40 hours.

According to a list published by CNN, Hong Kong ranks first, where the average workweek exceeds 50 hours, placing it at the top of a list of over 70 cities analyzed by UBS. Additionally, Hong Kong has 17 public holidays a year, and a total of over 2600 hours are worked annually.

Almost 400 hours less are worked annually in the second-ranked Mumbai. Surprisingly, the Mexican capital, Mexico City, has broken into third place with an average of 2261 working hours per year. Evidence of India’s industriousness is also reflected in New Delhi’s fourth place, with just a hundred hours less than its neighbor.

Bangkok ranks fifth, and despite having five weeks of paid vacation annually, workers manage to complete 2191 working hours. Only five hours less are worked on average in Dubai, but there are 30 days of paid annual leave, and one must not forget the public holidays. With 22 days of annual leave in the busiest African city, Nairobi, the average working hours are 2184. The average Taipei resident works 2141 hours annually, which was enough for eighth place.

If you thought Croatian laws on annual leave are rigid, don’t even think about moving to Jakarta. Besides working over 2100 hours annually, you are entitled to only 12 days of annual leave. This is hardly enough for a visit to relatives in Croatia if you move to that region.

The list of the top 10 cities is closed by Bogotá, with just under 2100 working hours annually. There are no cities from Europe, Australia, or North America on the list. This is proof that in these parts, people do not work excessively, no matter how much workers complain.
