MET Group, an international energy sales and trading group based in Switzerland, in addition to entering the Croatian gas market nearly two years ago, is also considering other business ventures.
Recently, they concluded a preliminary process of due diligence on Petrokemija and, as stated by the group, are currently processing information and data.
– Since the share purchase agreement is based on mutual agreement in which ideally all parties must meet their own requirements and business interests, the matter is still open, and we are now conducting oversight of the regulatory and business environment – they reveal at MET, which is led in Croatia by Goran Frančić.
MET is a leading company in the Central European natural gas market with a significant share in the end-user market in Hungary, Slovakia, Romania, and Croatia. They are active participants in European electricity, oil, and derivatives markets, optimizing their position and risk management through their trading platforms located in Switzerland and the United Kingdom. They opened a subsidiary in Croatia at the end of 2013, and 2014 was their first full year of operation in the market, during which they became one of the three largest independent gas suppliers (i.e., those without dominant influence or state ownership). Although they do not disclose business details, they state that since then they have continuously increased the number of clients and are working to maintain the trend of providing services to an ever-growing number of clients.
