In an era of economic recovery, when it is essential to establish the foundations of sustainable economic growth, the skills of controllers are particularly important. Controlling and its benefits have been utilized by Europe and the world for decades, and countries with a long tradition of controlling have overcome the crisis much faster. The transfer of various knowledge and practices is the primary goal of the 1st International Conference on Controlling, organized on November 5 at the Westin Hotel in Zagreb by the consulting company Kognosko and the business weekly Lider.
Controllers from Germany, Austria, Poland, Russia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina will share their experiences with colleagues from Croatia, while the conference topics cover a wide area – from interpreting the controller as a change agent and management partner, which will be discussed by Walter Schmidt. Schmidt, as a member of the board of the Internationaler Controller Verein (ICV), a lecturer at the Controller Academy, and co-author of numerous books on controlling, is recognized as the best European expert in this field, and he will explain to the conference participants in Zagreb what controlling essentially means.
