Hrvatska elektroprivreda (HEP) can be competitive and offer a better price than the competition, said today the CEO of HEP, Tomislav Šerić, in Čakovec, where 120 years of electricity in the city were celebrated.
HEP is currently facing challenges, such as entering the EU and gaining market competition, said Šerić, who is confident that the company will know how to respond to these challenges.
It is certain that electricity is a market component, and HEP has a good portfolio. The price of electricity will depend on the price of fuel and the amount of precipitation, but regardless, HEP will be competitive, stated the CEO of HEP in response to a journalist’s question about the price of electricity and competition.
Čakovec today marked 120 years of electricity in the city – on October 1, 1893, a direct current power plant was put into regular operation in Čakovec, along with an electrical network with 131 lighting points in the city streets and in 105 apartments with 1,400 bulbs.
The Međimurje County Prefect Matija Posavec says that little is known in our public about the fact that the first public lighting and public electrical network in Croatia was made and put into operation precisely in Čakovec.
Today, Elektra Čakovec supplies electricity to more than 46,400 customers in the Međimurje County, of which about 41,000 are in the household category.
