The Most Traded Stocks are HT and Adris

Today, the most traded stocks on the Zagreb Stock Exchange are HT and Adris, and in the absence of domestic business news, investors are monitoring developments in foreign markets.

The Crobex index was down 0.09 percent around noon, at 1,817 points, while Crobex10 was down 0.16 percent, at 1,025 points.

The regular turnover of shares amounted to 3.9 million kuna, which is approximately 900,000 more than on Friday at this time.

 - The trading dynamics in the domestic market are weak today, with the most trading in HT and Adris stocks. By the end of the day, in the absence of news from the domestic business sector, investors will monitor developments on foreign exchanges – says Ana Matić, financial analyst at Zagrebačka banka.

The most liquid stock by noon was HT, with a turnover of 743,000 kuna, and its price stagnated at 174.76 kuna.

Following is the regular stock of Adris, with a turnover of 643,000 kuna. Its price is around 285.35 kuna, as it was on Friday.

In very calm trading among the more liquid issues, the stock of Valamar Adria stands out with a loss, as its price fell by 1.7 percent to 157.19 kuna.

On the other hand, the stock of Đuro Đaković Holding stands out with a gain, with a price increase of 2.67 percent to 63.72 kuna.

Among macroeconomic data, the decline in industrial production in Croatia in August by 3.5 percent year-on-year stands out, marking the fifth consecutive month of decline.

This is a slightly smaller decline than a month earlier, when it fell by 4.1 percent, but also larger than expected. Namely, four macroeconomists who participated in a Hina survey estimated that industrial production in August fell by an average of 3.3 percent, with all expecting a decline between 1.5 and 5.0 percent.

On foreign exchanges, the most important indices are in negative territory today, with the London FTSE, Frankfurt DAX, and Paris CAC currently down between 0.7 and 1.2 percent.

 - The negative sentiment in Asian and European markets is a result of political uncertainty in Italy, which faces a government collapse, as well as uncertainty surrounding budget negotiations in the U.S. The U.S. government faces a funding halt as early as tomorrow, as no agreement was reached on the budget and debt ceiling in Congress over the weekend – notes Matić.

As she adds, trading could remain uncertain until Friday, when key employment data for the U.S. in September is expected to be released. In the meantime, data on industrial activities and unemployment in Germany and the Eurozone are also awaited, which should be published on Tuesday, concludes Matić.
