Last Friday, a demonstration harvest was held at the Feravino vineyards in Feričanci. Business partners, media representatives, the Croatian Handball Federation, and the Croatian Olympic Committee attended the interesting demonstration, followed by a competitive harvest, where our prominent Olympians Dubravko Šimenc and Slavko Goluža, the coach of the Croatian men’s handball team, also participated in the harvest.
The cheerful team at the Srednjak site harvested Frankovka, a variety that Feravino has revived from obscurity and pays special attention to. After all, Frankovka Miraz 2009 was awarded a silver medal at this year’s prestigious Decanter in London, marking the second consecutive time. The tasty and sweet harvested grapes will be transformed into fine drops of Frankovka Miraz 2013 and Frankovka Dika 2013, as stated by Feravino.
In the men’s category, the most grapes were harvested by coach Slavko Goluža, while among the ladies, the best result was achieved by Milica Sekulić, an engineer of Mediterranean agriculture. A total of 1010 kilograms of Frankovka was harvested with optimal parameters – 20 percent sugar and 5.7 acidity, which will be converted into 650 liters of excellent Feričanci Frankovka, of excellent quality and beneficial for health!
Feravino has decided to promote the harvest in this way to highlight the development and importance of agriculture, traditional values, the development of viticulture, and the production of excellent wine, which the company strives for.
The vineyards have yielded well, and this year a total yield is expected to be 10% higher than last year’s. The harvest will last for about ten more days, depending on the somewhat capricious weather.
