Social networks and the daily posting of personal photos on them encourage consumerism.
According to RTL, a recent survey conducted by Sharps Bedrooms reveals that the vast amount of photos on Facebook and Instagram causes us to label our almost new clothes as old.
According to this survey, women on average own about 107 clothing items, yet we can hear statements like ‘I have nothing to wear’ almost every day.
The study found that the average woman believes that 36 percent of her clothing is not wearable, and 15 percent of the clothing has never even been worn.
Additionally, 67 percent of women find it traumatic when they have to find something to wear for a special occasion, while 64 percent say they always buy something new.
One in five women reports regularly arguing with their husband or partner because they do not have enough clothes. Thirty-six percent even regularly buy clothes and then hide them.
