Mayors of Southeast Europe will meet with the business community and attract investors for public projects in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources at the International NEXPO 2013 fair in Rijeka, on September 26 and 27, 2013.
Considering that transport is the largest consumer of non-renewable energy sources and that approximately 25% of total greenhouse gas emissions in the EU come from transport, the fair organizers decided to take the opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of building a regional energy infrastructure network in transport.
By building a regional energy infrastructure network, it is possible to significantly influence the reduction of non-renewable energy use and achieve greenhouse gas emission reduction targets.
To make participants and visitors aware that the future of road mobility is already present on the roads in the region, a personal vehicle powered exclusively by electricity and registered in the Republic of Croatia – the Citroen C-Zero – will be presented at the fair over the next two days. Visitors will personally see that such vehicles protect the environment from exhaust emissions and noise pollution, while also providing numerous savings.
