“Our entire world, and our entire understanding of it, is today based on the physical person, on their presence, and this is largely due to concepts that date back to the industrial revolution and do not fit at all into the ‘pixelated’ concept of virtual identities that prevails today,” said Leonard Brody, an entrepreneur, investor, author, and, as the media often calls him, “a leader of the new world order,” during his keynote address at the opening of the Combis conference.
He emphasized that most institutions that govern our lives are doomed to complete collapse and a series of failures in the coming years – in areas ranging from human resources to marketing to education. And these mistakes, often catastrophic, will occur precisely because they do not understand the changes that are happening, he stated.
Combis hosted Brody as the keynote speaker at the 7th Combis conference, which opened today in Šibenik, to explain to over 300 conference attendees how technology has changed our behavior – and why this is of exceptional, crucial importance for every company, business system, or government institution; anyone who does not understand these changes will be doomed to failure, Brody emphasizes.
“To understand what is happening today, we must place the story in a historical context. It is important to understand the main technological changes and the evolution in behavior that are responsible for the fact that we are living in – it is quite clear – a time marked by the most changes in human history. Because of this, human beings of all generations have changed their behavior more in the last 15 years than in any other period of our history. I would even say that it would be hard to recognize us,” Brody continued.
In his opinion, we are in the most confusing period in history in which human behavior is dramatically changing.
“We have evolved, changed our behavior due to the influence of technology, but at the same time, it is interesting to note that most business systems have not adapted to this at all and completely ignore that virtual side of today’s communication. When I say completely, I really mean – completely. Some of these companies constantly speak the wrong language to the wrong people. Some of the biggest failures in marketing, education, and human resources have occurred in the last five years precisely because companies do not understand what is happening today and how human behavior has changed,” Brody said during his lecture, emphasizing why it is important for companies and all other systems to understand these changes in human behavior and communication, which are largely a result of major technological changes.
