According to the sales results of the tourist company Uniline, this year’s summer season records an 11% increase in the number of guests compared to the same period last year.
Although the season started with somewhat weaker results during June and early July, the exceptionally busy August and September successfully compensated for this.
Statistics indicate that during the summer of 2013, the highest interest in traveling to Croatia came from the markets of Germany, Austria, and Slovenia, while an increase compared to the previous year was recorded in the Scandinavian and British markets, as well as in distant markets, particularly China, Japan, and Brazil.
The largest number of guests visiting our country organized by Uniline, especially in destinations along the Adriatic, pertains to families of four. The guest profile varies from nearly 27% who opted for private accommodation to as much as 49% who used hotel accommodation services. Guests this year predominantly preferred hotels with two and three stars throughout Istria and Kvarner, as well as tourist resorts (3*) and private apartments in Northern Dalmatia, with a 7% increase also recorded in the area of non-board services, particularly in excursion programs. Throughout the islands of the Split archipelago and the Southern Adriatic, hotel accommodation services in three or four-star hotels continued to be the most utilized. It is encouraging to note that the number of arrivals in the City of Zagreb and continental Croatia in general has significantly increased, thanks to quality destination programs.
