Economic analyst Guste Santini held a workshop on the topic of restructuring organized by Rifina.
- Restructuring of companies is no longer an option but is becoming a necessity for companies if they want to survive in the market, says Guste Santini. During the workshop, he emphasized that it should be understood that this is not just a matter of ironing out the company but involves structural reforms that must be carried out.
– It’s like having a five-meter tail and needing to shorten it to 15 centimeters to survive. This will require painful cuts, but they must be made. Replacing workers with new ones who understand new technologies is a necessity, Santini said.
The workshop was divided into two parts. In the first part, Santini went through the phases of restructuring, while in the second part, problems were solved interactively.
The participants listened with interest to the presentation, and Santini particularly emphasized the role of banks in these cases.
– Banks, when they write off 20 percent of their claims, must be sure that they will be able to collect the other 80 percent. Not every loan is the same for a bank, and we must be aware of that. They must monitor all sectors and know everything. My definition of banks is that they are lenders, and they must lend, he said.
He emphasized that it is important to hire consultants to obtain the most realistic picture of the situation in the company as a neutral party.
