The Croatian Parliament continues its session. The agenda includes a discussion on amendments to the Cooperatives Act, but at the very beginning, the HDZ parliamentary club requested and received a break so that the Prime Minister could come to the Parliament.
The HDZ parliamentary club requested that Prime Minister Zoran Milanović come to the Croatian Parliament today and explain why the Government did not comply with the alleged announcement to the European Commission that the amendments to the law on the European Arrest Warrant, known as ‘Lex Perković’, were supposed to be on the Government’s agenda yesterday.
The HDZ club demands that Milanović come to the Parliament and explain to the representatives and the public what it is about, said Željko Reiner, who, on behalf of the HDZ club, requested and received a break to give the Prime Minister time to cross to the other side of Markov Square.
The HDZ, along with the Parliament, called on the Prime Minister to resign, due to the damage he and his Government are causing to Croatia, and to enable Croatian citizens to benefit from joining the European Union, rather than just experiencing shame, damage, and conflict with its institutions.
Independent representative Jadranka Kosor also joined the request for a break. Reiner referred to media reports that the Prime Minister sent a so-called ‘non-paper’ to the European Commission on Thursday, stating that there are no grounds for sanctions against Croatia, as the law will be aligned with European requirements in an expedited procedure.
Although it was expected, the mentioned law was not on the Government’s agenda yesterday.
