Aleksandra Kolarić: This is a sign that fear prevails in the party

The Presidency of the SDP has initiated proceedings against Aleksandra Kolarić for expulsion from the party. In a statement for the third Dnevnik, Kolarić said she learned about it from the media.

She emphasized that she was shocked by this decision, as well as the speed of its adoption. She explained that in her column she wrote that the Prime Minister’s insistence on ‘lex Perković’ is to the detriment of Croatia and called on the party leadership to influence Zoran Milanović to change his opinion and the law. “I only expressed my political stance and did not expect to be punished for it,” Kolarić stated.

This is the first time since 1990 that someone has been expelled from the party for verbal delict, for expressing their own political stance. This is a sign that fear prevails in the party. “I will appeal the decision and consult a lawyer,” she added.

Aleksandra Kolarić is the president of the Croatian Public Relations Association (HUOJ) and a candidate for vice president of the Zagreb SDP. During the coalition government of Ivica Račan, she was the spokesperson for the Croatian Government for three years and the head of the Government Office for Public Relations.
