At today’s shareholders’ meeting of Tankerkomerc, the Turkish Dogus Group became the majority owner of the Zadar-based company engaged in trade, tourism, and services.
Specifically, the shareholders of Tankerkomerc accepted the Management’s proposal to reduce the share capital by 60 million kuna to cover losses, followed by a capital increase from Dogus Group of 108.9 million kuna, thereby allowing the Turkish investor to take ownership and management control of Tankerkomerc. Dogus Group also plans to provide Tankerkomerc with an additional loan of up to 75 million kuna for new investments.
The General Director of the company, Boris Jurić, emphasized that in his opinion, Dogus Group is the optimal solution.
- At this moment we are in, I as Management support such a procedure where a really strong strategic investor enters Tankerkomerc – said Jurić.
Moreover, the Turkish Dogus Group has already acquired two marinas in the Zadar area, Marina Dalmacija, which has been under Turkish ownership for just over a year along with Marina Borik. Over the next three years, they will invest 17 million euros, with the majority going to Marina Dalmacija. Marinas Dalmacija and Borik are performing well, although the economic crisis has also impacted them. Unlike in 2009, when there were no available berths in Marina Dalmacija, today the occupancy is around 85 percent.
