According to data from the Tax Administration, in the first seven months of 2013, revenue in tourism activities increased by 8.5 percent compared to last year.
Total financial revenues in accommodation services, food preparation and serving, as well as in travel agencies and tour operators amounted to 13.27 billion kuna during this period.
- The achieved tourist traffic so far this tourist season and revenues in the first seven months show a positive trend for this year’s tourism in 2013. The growth in revenue in tourism activities is accompanied by an increase in the number of arrivals and overnight stays, which makes us quite satisfied as financial indicators are a key measure of the season’s success. The positive impact on the achieved figures was certainly influenced by investments in tourism, in which 2.6 billion kuna was invested this year – said Minister of Tourism Darko Lorencin, adding that he looks optimistically at the post-season and expects a growth in tourism revenue of between 2 and 3 percent by the end of the year.
Looking by categories, legal and natural persons achieved a total of 5.51 billion kuna in revenue (+2.7 percent) in the accommodation services in hotels and similar facilities, 164.56 million kuna in revenue (+6.9 percent) in the category of camps and camping spaces, 2.42 billion kuna (+28.2 percent) in the restaurant and other food preparation and serving activities, 2.14 billion kuna (+27.2 percent) in the beverage preparation and serving activities, and 244.65 million kuna in revenue (+3 percent) in the category of tour operators.
