Human resource management is critically important in times of crisis, although this area is often neglected during a crisis as efforts to save companies take precedence, said today the Minister of Labor and Pension System Mirando Mrsić, opening the Regional Conference on Human Resource Management.
Mrsić believes that human capital is crucial for the survival of companies, as well as for overall social success and competitiveness.
“In successful companies and countries, special attention is paid to human resource management,” says Mrsić.
According to him, the Ministry of Labor and Pension System aims to increase the employability and competitiveness of the workforce in Croatia, which is also the goal of the announced amendments to the Labor Law.
He urged employers not to treat workers as “objects” but as partners with whom they can realize their entrepreneurial intentions and with whose representatives they should negotiate during the restructuring of companies.
At the two-day Regional Conference on Human Resource Management – HR Business Arena 2013, organized by Infoarena, several round tables will also be held where, among other things, the strategic importance of the human resources department in the restructuring of companies and the relationship between human resource management and business success will be discussed. There will also be discussions on EU regulations in the field of human resources as well as on motivation and reward systems and their impact on business.
