In the proceedings for pre-bankruptcy settlements for 821 cases, a financial restructuring plan has been accepted or a settlement has been reached, involving companies with a total of 14,087 employees whose reported liabilities amount to a total of 14.4 billion kuna, according to the latest data from the Financial Agency.
Of this, by the end of last week, settlement councils accepted financial restructuring plans for 629 companies with 10,341 employees and total liabilities of 11.8 billion kuna. Settlements have been reached before the competent commercial courts for 192 companies that have 3,746 workers and total liabilities of over 2.5 billion kuna.
The highest number of settlements so far has been reached at the Commercial Court in Osijek, with 63. This is followed by the Commercial Court in Varaždin with 48 settlements, then in Rijeka, 42. At the Commercial Court in Zagreb, 17 settlements were reached by the end of last week, in Split 10, in Bjelovar 9, and in Zadar 3.
Financial restructuring plans have been accepted so far for 12.63 percent of the total number of companies that have submitted requests for pre-bankruptcy settlements, which account for 24.6 percent of the total reported liabilities.
Settlements have been reached for 3.86 percent of the total number of cases, which account for 5.3 percent of the total reported liabilities.
Since the enactment of the Law on Financial Operations and Pre-Bankruptcy Settlement on October 1, 2012, until September 13 of this year, 4,979 companies with a total of 41,587 workers have submitted requests for pre-bankruptcy settlements, and the total amount of their reported liabilities exceeds 48 billion kuna.
