‘Export of the DIV screw factory will increase from 20 to over 130 million euros’

DIV Group opened a new screw equipment factory today in Knin, an investment worth 35 million euros, creating 400 new jobs.

At DIV, it is estimated that around 350 people would be indirectly employed in other logistics and service activities outside of DIV itself.

With the increase in orders and the demand for screw products in Europe, DIV Group decided to invest in expanding capacity and building a new factory in Knin, as current capacities do not meet the needs, said Tomislav Debeljak, owner of DIV Group, at the opening.

He noted that in the DIV d.o.o. screw factory, the share of direct exports in total turnover last year was 65 percent, and looking only at production, the share of direct exports this year was over 85 percent.

The entire production from the new factory is intended for export, which means that the export component will significantly increase, Debeljak emphasized, adding that the value of exports in the total production of the DIV d.o.o. screw factory will gradually increase from 20 million euros to over 130 million euros.

The investment was realized mostly from its own funds from retained earnings (25 million euros), and a loan from the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development (through the Croatian Postal Bank) in the amount of 10 million euros.

Construction of the new factory began in 2010, covering an area of 22,000 square meters, and it will carry out the complete production of screws, from preparation to finishing.

The largest customers of DIV’s products in Croatia are SDF (Same Deutz Fahr), Croatian Railways, Dalekovod-Proizvodnja, Đuro Đaković-Special Vehicles, and abroad Reyer, HP Import, Vipa, FM, BMG World, NSS, Bossard, etc.

The DIV group, excluding the Brodosplit shipbuilding industry, is one of the leading screw factories in Europe, operating at eight locations in six countries and employing over 1,000 people.

With the completion of the first phase of restructuring Brodosplit and reaching the full capacity of the new factory in Knin, DIV Group will employ more than 3,300 workers, according to DIV Group.
