Subscribed 954 million kuna and 19.1 million euros in treasury bills

The Ministry of Finance today subscribed 954 million kuna and 19.1 million euros worth of treasury bills, mainly at the same or slightly lower interest rates than at last week’s auction.

As announced today by the ministry, 800 million kuna and 15 million euros worth of treasury bills were offered for subscription. Banks and other financial institutions submitted bids worth 1.004 billion kuna and 19.1 million euros.

The ministry accepted bids worth 954 million kuna, 154 million more than planned. At the same time, it also accepted bids worth 19.1 million euros, 4.1 million more than planned.

Thus, a subscription of 306 million kuna in treasury bills with a maturity of 91 days was accepted, at an average interest rate of 1 percent, the same as at last week’s auction.

A subscription of 48 million kuna in treasury bills with a maturity of 182 days was also accepted, at an average interest rate of 1.65 percent, which is 0.05 percentage points lower than last week.

For a term of 364 days, 600 million kuna worth of treasury bills was subscribed, at an average interest rate of 2.55 percent, the same as at the previous auction.

At the same time, 1 million euros in treasury bills with a maturity of 91 days was subscribed, at an average interest rate of 0.40 percent, which is 0.15 percentage points lower than last time.

An issuance of 18.1 million euros worth of treasury bills was also made, at an average interest rate of 1.15 percent, the same as last week.

With the latest subscription, along with the simultaneous maturity of 938 million kuna worth of treasury bills, the balance of subscribed treasury bills increases today by 16 million kuna, to 19.118 billion kuna.

In euros, with the maturity of 15 million euros in treasury bills, their balance today increases by 4.1 million euros, to a total of 424.38 million euros.

The next auction will be held on September 17 via the Bloomberg Auction System (BAS).
