A contract for the construction of the entrance complex of the Port of Ploče, valued at 85 million kuna, was signed today in Ploče.
The contract was signed on behalf of the investor, the Port Authority of Ploče, by Director Deša Rathman with representatives of the consortium of contracting companies, which includes Mucić & co from Dugopolje, Viadukt from Zagreb, and GK Grupa from Varaždin.
The main project was developed by the IGH Institute, and the works, for which all permits have been obtained, are expected to be completed within 18 months.
As emphasized by Deša Rathman, the new entrance terminal, covering a total area of 50,000 square meters, will have an office building where, alongside the Port Authority, customs, police, numerous freight forwarders, and agents will have their offices.
A control point will also be built, along with monitored and fenced parking lots for incoming and outgoing vehicles with a total capacity to accommodate 67 trucks and 84 passenger cars, as well as access roads.
The investment aims to provide facilities and infrastructure suitable for the needs of port truck traffic, and the introduction of a management and access control system will enable faster and more efficient cargo flow.
The Port Authority of Ploče secured the funds from a World Bank loan.
