As part of its mobile banking service, m-zabe, Zagrebačka banka is introducing a new type of mobile payment, the m-kupi service. This allows payments in all Konzum stores and at Tisak kiosks using a mobile application, meaning that a mobile phone with the m-zaba app installed is sufficient for processing payments. m-kupi is the only service of its kind in Croatia and represents an innovative concept even within European frameworks.
The m-kupi service is simple and secure to use, and transactions are processed very quickly, claims Zagrebačka banka. When making a purchase at the checkout, the user announces payment by mobile phone, then launches m-zaba and selects the m-kupi option. After confirming consent for payment, they show the merchant the barcode generated on the mobile screen, and after scanning the barcode, they receive a confirmation of payment by debiting their current account.
– M-kupi is an upgrade of our mobile banking service, which still dominantly holds the largest market share in this type of payment in Croatia – with as much as 80% in number and 90% in the volume of financial transactions,” stated Daniela Roguljić Novak, a member of the Management Board of Zagrebačka banka, during the presentation, and mentioned the figure of 200,000 m-zaba users.
Mobile payment m-kupi is part of m-zaba and does not incur additional fees, functioning on all networks and mobile devices. The first transaction of the m-kupi service at the presentation was performed by actor Filip Juričić.
