What will Peugeot showcase at the Frankfurt Motor Show?

Peugeot enthusiasts will be pleased at the Frankfurt International Motor Show starting on September 10. The renowned French car manufacturer will unveil new assets that highlight its ambitions and shift towards higher market segments.

They will present the new 308 model and refreshed 3008 and 5008, BlueHDi models, hybrid diesel-electric models HYbrid4, the 208 HYbrid FE demonstrator, and the 2008 HYbrid Air concept car.

Also featured are the Onyx concept car, the RCZ R model, and two 208 models that have already achieved competitive success.

Among the thirty vehicles and concept cars displayed in 2900 m2 of exhibition space in Frankfurt, visitors will be able to discover as many as nine representatives of the new 308 model in the area dedicated to it. The new Peugeot 308 represents the core of the offering in the strategic segment C (more than a third of the European market), where the share of compact cars is 43%.

To achieve high ambitions, designers and engineers have shaped an intuitive, modern, and bold compact car with a clean and elegant design, demanding very high quality. Due to the new EMP2 platform (Efficient Modular Platform 2), the PEUGEOT 308 is the lightest in its segment – its weight has been reduced by 140 kg – and the most compact model in the segment (measuring 4.25 m in length). Reduced overhangs ensure excellent dynamic behavior on the road and plenty of space in the interior.

Throughout 2013, the trend of reducing the average CO2 emissions of the European vehicle line continues: by the end of May, the value decreased to 116.3 g/km, down from 121.5 g/km in 2012.
The environmental protection policy is evident in the continuous optimization of internal combustion engines and the introduction of new generation engines such as the family of one-liter and 1.2-liter three-cylinder gasoline engines.

Peugeot will therefore present in Frankfurt the new BlueHDi diesel emissions reduction technology integrated into the new 308 and 508 SW. By exclusively combining SCR (selective catalytic reduction) and FAP (particulate filter) with an additive, it reduces nitrogen oxides (NOx) by up to 90%, as well as CO2 emissions and fuel consumption, while eliminating 99.9% of particles. The BlueHDi technology is already compliant with the Euro 6 diesel standard and will be applied to all diesel models from the end of 2013, solidifying its position as a technological leader in the diesel sector.

Another example demonstrating commitment to environmental protection, moving towards the exclusive part of the market, is the diesel-electric hybrid technology HYbrid4. As the first of its kind in the world, it was introduced in the 3008 HYbrid4 model and then expanded to the 508 RXH and 508 HYbrid4 models. Peugeot emphasizes that it offers an innovative product range considering environmental impact and driving experience, with three HYbrid4 models already attracting 28,000 customers.
