The 6th Agro Arca Begins in Biograd

After five years of being held in the city of Slatina, this year’s 6th International Fair of Innovations, Eco Ideas, Products, and Technologies – Agro Arca is being held for the first time on the Adriatic, and despite the crisis, there are more innovations than last year.

Thus, over the three-day duration, from August 30 to September 1, around 300 innovators, entrepreneurs, and producers from the fields of agriculture and the food industry will present their work. Domestic exhibitors will have the opportunity to exchange experiences with innovators and producers from eight countries: Sweden, Iran, Russia, Poland, Slovenia, Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia.

“Agro Arca has established itself as a significant economic event aimed at paving the way for the application of the achievements of innovators who present their products and enabling innovators, as well as small family farms and other producers, to connect with the academic community on one side and potential investors and consumers on the other,” emphasized Vojislav Raušević, Secretary General of the Association of Innovators of Croatia, adding that developed European countries are placing competitive products on the market thanks to nurturing innovative entrepreneurship, and Agro Arca aims to encourage Croatian entrepreneurs and producers to adopt such an approach as their daily business policy.

The main theme of this year’s Agro Arca is the protection of domestic products, and a professional workshop organized by the Development Agency of the North will be held under the title ‘Protection and Promotion of Domestic Products.’ Dubravka Živoder from the Croatian Agricultural Agency will speak about the experience of protecting Pag lamb, while Petar Rodić, president of the Poljički soparnik Association, will discuss the successful protection of the Poljički soparnik and the creation of a brand from this once poor dish for the impoverished.

Mr.sc. Radoslav Bobanović will talk about the shortcomings and opportunities for rural development in Croatia based on the work of the Agricultural Cooperative Maslina and Vino from the municipality of Polača.
Visitors to this year’s Agro Arca can also expect a rich gastronomic and entertainment program. They will be able to taste creative dishes from renowned Croatian chef Renata Kraljeva, as well as traditional dishes such as the aforementioned Poljički soparnik and Pag lamb. In the evening hours, visitors will be entertained by cultural and artistic societies and Dalmatian klapas.

The fair will conclude on September 1 in the evening with a ceremonial award presentation for the best innovations and innovators of this year.
