Salaries in Zagreb Decrease by 2.2 Percent

The average net salary of employees in legal entities in Zagreb for June this year amounted to 6,407 kuna, which is nominally 2.2 percent, or 145 kuna less than in May.

On an annual basis, compared to June 2012, the average net salary in Zagreb for the same month this year was higher by 88 kuna or nominally by 1.4 percent, according to data from the Statistics Department of the City Office for Strategic Planning and Development.

At the same time, according to data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics, the average net salary for June per employee in legal entities in Croatia was 5,486 kuna, indicating that the Zagreb salary is higher by 921 kuna or by 16.8 percent.

According to the Zagreb Statistics Department, the average net salary for June in the Zagreb economy was 6,457 kuna, while in non-economic activities it was 6,295 kuna.

Data for the first half of the year show that during this period, the average monthly net salary in Zagreb amounted to 6,444 kuna and was nominally higher by 1.3 percent compared to the same period last year.

In terms of the average net salary in Zagreb, there are four sectors with an average for June above 10,000 kuna, with the highest net salaries recorded in management activities; consulting related to management at 12,238 kuna, and beverage production at 11,004 kuna.

On the top list of high incomes in Zagreb are then computer programming and consulting at 10,806 kuna, as well as advertising (advertising and propaganda) and market research, with an average net salary for June of 10,086 kuna.

Above nine thousand kuna average June salaries were earned by employees in air transport (9,763 kuna), extraction of oil and natural gas (9,644 kuna), and in forestry and logging (9,288 kuna).

The lowest net salaries in Zagreb for June were earned by employees in protective and investigative activities – 3,068 kuna.

Employees in clothing production received an average salary of 3,213 kuna for June, and slightly more, 3,273 kuna, were earned by employees in services related to the management and maintenance of buildings and landscaping activities.

Less than four thousand kuna average net salary was also earned by employees in Zagreb in the production of other non-metallic mineral products with 3,430 kuna, in wood processing 3,539 kuna, in leather and related products 3,562 kuna, in employment activities 3,630 kuna, and in textile production 3,708 kuna.
