Kučana at the helm of 3. maj to be succeeded by a proven Uljanik staff?

The management of Uljanik plans a change at the top of ‘3. maj’, and the current CEO Edi Kučan will most likely be succeeded in that position by Zdravko Pliško, a proven Uljanik staff member with many years of experience in construction and production management in Pula.

Pliško has recently retired, as reported by Novi list, but, as is rumored in shipyard circles, he will take the helm of ‘3. maj’ at least until the completion of the merger of the Rijeka shipyard with Uljanik. In other words, he will remain in that position until the management of the Uljanik group finds a new long-term solution.

More about the new personnel solutions in ‘3. maj’ could be known after today’s General Assembly of the company, where members of the new Supervisory Board will be elected. The names of three candidates proposed by the new majority owner, Uljanik, are known, and they are, according to the agenda of the Assembly published in Narodne novine, Veljko Grbac, Marinko Brgić, and Elvis Pahljina. The representative of the workers on the Supervisory Board will be Nada Jelinić-Starčević, while the name of the fifth member appointed by the Agency for Management of State Property (AUDIO) has not been announced.

It is expected that the current CEO Kučan will offer his mandate to the new Supervisory Board, after which Pliško should be appointed as the new head of ‘3. maj’. Alongside him, the current member Predrag Božanić is expected to remain in the management, and it is speculated that the management will also receive a third member, which is allowed by the company’s Statute, and that will be from the ranks of Uljanik.

Given that there is a possibility that the state will not appoint its representative to the Supervisory Board today, the change at the top of the management could be postponed until the composition of the entire Supervisory Board is determined, but any official confirmation of this information was impossible to obtain yesterday.
