Due to unpaid payment bases at the end of July this year, there were 61,485 business entities blocked in Croatia with total unpaid debts of 35.56 billion kuna, and 269,644 citizens were also blocked with a total debt of 20.82 billion kuna, the Financial Agency announced today on its website.
On a monthly basis, there is a decrease in the number and amount of debts of business entities, while there is an increase in both the number and debt of citizens.
Thus, at the end of July compared to June, the number of citizens with blocked accounts was higher by 2.6 percent, or by 6,978, and the amount of their debt was higher by about 600 million, or about 3 percent.
At the end of July, there were 3,193 business entities blocked, which is 4.9 percent less than at the end of June, and the amount of their total debt was lower by 1.2 billion kuna, a decrease of 3.2 percent.
The Financial Agency also notes that based on the opening of pre-bankruptcy proceedings, the amount of reported unpaid payment bases for business entities in July decreased by 910 million kuna, and the number of debtors decreased by 144.
On an annual basis, compared to July 2012, the number of business entities in blockade decreased by 11,873, or 12 percent, and the amount of reported unpaid payment bases decreased by 8.3 billion kuna, or 19 percent.
According to the duration of the blockade, business entities in long-term blockade dominate in both number and amount – more than three-quarters of business entities in blockade have been blocked for more than 360 days. At the end of July, 46,223 business entities were in long-term blockade, with an amount of 30.4 billion kuna, making their blockade amount 85.6 percent of the total debt.
