The Director of the Croatian Health Insurance Fund, Siniša Varga, announced more favorable and market-competitive supplementary health insurance policies, priced at 70 kuna per month for all citizens.
The state insurer, which has two million and 370 thousand insured individuals, aims to retain users who, with Croatia’s entry into the European Union and the arrival of competition, are allegedly being offered cheaper insurance services.
Varga announced that the HZZO supplementary health insurance will most likely be placed in a new legal form, as an independent and competitive product in the market, unrelated to the state budget.
The head of HZZO previously denied the announcement that, due to a directive from the European Commission, they would have to abandon the contracting of supplementary health insurance policies. This information could unnecessarily disturb the 2 million and 370 thousand of our insured individuals, holders of supplementary insurance policies, Varga said.
